Daria Kulesh releases single “Letting Go” – produced by Ben Walker
Letting Go is an original song from Daria Kulesh’s upcoming debut solo album, Eternal Child. It was inspired by Canción De Las Simples Cosas performed by Josienne Clarke and Ben Walker, the songs of Canadian singer/songwriter Dan McKinnon and Daria’s own story of love and loss in Nova Scotia, Canada.
It is a bittersweet, haunting track inspired by Celtic sessions in the pubs of Halifax, where Daria met her Canadian ex-sweetheart. Looking at that relationship from a distance, the song takes you on a nostalgic, yet enlightening journey. Daria’s personal experience of losing both a partner and a country she came to love may seem extreme, but don’t we all lose a whole world built from our hopes and dreams when a serious relationship comes to an abrupt end?
The track was produced by Radio BBC 2 Folk Awards nominated Ben Walker, winner of Spiral Earth Award for Best Duo with Josienne Clarke.
About Daria Kulesh (Eternal Child)
Daria Kulesh (aka Eternal Child) from Kings Langley, England, is a Russian-born singer-songwriter. She has started making a name for herself both locally and further afield as a finalist in regional songwriting contests and St Albans Film Festival music video competition.
Daria and her songs have been featured on many local and international radio stations (Celtic Music Radio, Bishop FM, Radio Verulam, Radio Dacorum, Radio Warwickshire, Watford’s Vibe, Uckfield FM, Dapper FM, MKFM, Acoustic Spectrum, Radio Bicester, UK Health Radio, Radio Basingstoke, FolkCast, Blues and Roots Radio and others), BBC Three Counties and BBC Lincolnshire as well as on television (BBC Hindi TV).
Daria usually performs with her band KARA who “capture imagination and keep people enthralled with theatrical, lively performances” (Unicorn magazine), but she will also be releasing a solo album, Eternal Child, later this year. It is co-produced by Radio BBC 2 Folk Awards nominated Ben Walker and Lauren Deakin-Davies of Folkstock Records.
Daria’s Russian roots are reflected in her music, intertwined with multicultural influences she has experienced on her turbulent and exciting journey through life.
