Kelly Oliver - New Single

We’re big fans of Kelly Oliver at Sonic Bandwagon. Big fans of Folkstock Records too under the stewardship of Helen Meissner, who works her socks off to promote her artists. Kelly’s a bit of a star though which is why we’re excited about her second album, following 2014’s ‘This Land’ (our review here), which is due in March 2016 -the 6th to be precise if you want to mark it in your diaries.

Here’s what Helen has to say:

Acclaimed rapidly ascending singer songwriter Kelly Oliver, who has just been described variously by iconic radio presenter Whispering Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2 as ‘an emerging voice in British Folk’, ‘ sincere and lovely’ ‘ what a beautiful, pure voice’, has just announced that she is releasing her next single ‘Miles to Tralee’.

Kelly’s song, which was produced by well known folk musician and producer Stu Hanna, will be on the next album from the award winning performer, released on March 6th. Inspired by a moving true story, ‘Miles to Tralee’ shares the joys and sorrow of her migrant grandmother.

Attracting attention and airplay from BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music and BBC Local Radio, Kelly will be hoping that this track follows in the footsteps of her last three singles, all of which have been played on Radio 2’s Folk Show as well as Bob Harris’s Sunday Show, the most recent of which was aired in the early hours of Sunday 11th October.

Kelly is headlining the prestigious London Folk and Roots festival event at which three other of Folkstock’s popular female acts are also performing on 11th November, at The Islington, and opening the high profile Time Out London ‘Rising Stars of Folk’ event at the Electric Carousel on October 27th.

‘Miles to Tralee’ is out on 20th November on Folkstock Records.
